If you are drawing Social Security retirement benefits, you will automatically be enrolled in Medicare upon reaching the age of sixty-five.  Therefore, you do not have to contact the Social Security Administration to complete your enrollment.  ## No, I'm drawing Social Security. However, if you are not drawing Social Security retirement benefits and want to transition to Medicare as your primary insurance, you will need to complete your enrollment.
